CoDiet Inspires Future Scientists at STEM Futures Programme

On August 8th, CoDiet was invited to participate in the STEM Futures programme at Imperial College London.

STEM Futures is a multi-year programme of activities and support for students of Black heritage who are interested in STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics and medicine). Black people are currently underrepresented in STEM, so it can be difficult for young Black students to find out first-hand what their next steps should be. This programme has been developed to support students in discovering the wide range of subjects within STEM studies and to support their path into university.

Three teams of Year 12 students raced against the clock to solve puzzles, crack codes, and escape the scenario. The fastest team completed the challenge in an impressive 20 minutes and 46 seconds!

The students enthusiastically embraced the experience and praised the activity for being both fun and engaging, with a hands-on approach. When asked what they would improve, the only common suggestion? They wished it lasted longer.

CoDiet was thrilled to be included in such a meaningful event, helping to spark curiosity and confidence in the next generation of STEM leaders.
